Description

Emily Martin (The Black Apple) does amazing paintings, and we're excited to have a few of them in our shop as prints.

She says about this portrait, "I created this image after I got a bee in my bonnet about the notion of a girl playing the banjo in the middle of the woods. A stag, bear, fox, rabbit, squirrel and owl are gathered 'round to hear her song.

The whole time I was working on this painting, I kept thinking she was singing/playing them the Burl Ives song Buckeye Jim. I feel almost certain that's what she's playing, there among the animals and the lily-of-the-valley."

The print is archival, water-resistant, fade-resistant, and has a beautiful richness.

All prints arrive sealed in a cello sleeve and a protective stiff envelope, signed by Emily Martin.
