Jonathan LeVine Gallery will be hosting a solo exhibition “Nuclear Mystic” by Mars-1 starting February 21st, 2009.

For his second solo show at the gallery, the artist has created a collection of original large-scale works including abstract paintings on paper and wood panel as well as a series of bronze figurative sculptures in bronze, all of which will be incorporated into a site-specific installation. “Nuclear Mystic” features Mars-1’s signature style of vast, abstracted, quasi-extraterrestrial looking landscapes.

If you are in NY this Friday, February 6th, 2009 — there are TWO things to partake in. First, spend your day at New York Comic Con and then stop over at the Kidrobot store to meet (drool on) more of your favorite artists!

Artists making appearances for the evening include Sket One, Huck Gee, Mr. Shane Jessup, Clutter, Pon and others.

Food, music, drinks and art will be provided. Also, they will have tons of special items on sale for one night only!

New York Comic Con is back in town this weekend, February 6-8 2009 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

NYCC plays host to the latest and greatest in comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies, and television. The panels and autograph sessions give fans a chance to interact with their favorite creators. The screening rooms feature sneak peeks at films and television shows months before they hit either big or small screens. New York Comic Con is the second largest pop culture convention in America.
