Frank Kozik established himself in the mid-eighties by reviving the lost art of the concert poster. His success designing posters segued into artwork, namely album covers for music powerhouses like The Sex Pistols and Nirvana. Ron English is a well-known painter, whose work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the globe. While his agit-pop paintings hang in galleries around the globe, English has been “liberating” billboards as an outlet for his work and to protest corporate America’s paid self-expression. He has pirated over a thousand billboards over the last twenty years, replacing existing advertisements with his own hand-painted subvertisements.

We are some lucky gals at Dream in Plastic and had the pleasure of meeting the artist himself when he moved to the area! We are also grateful that we were able to hold ourselves together. Managing to not faint in his legendary and super-cool presence, we now bring you a few select items for sale from the personal stock of English himself! A lot of these items are hard to find these days, as they were made in limited amounts and quickly snatched up by Ron fans worldwide.

The Scavengers Series 2 Mini-Figures are based on Kathie Olivas’ amazing original paintings. They are inspired by early American portraiture that often depicted children as small adults in an idealized new land.
