Joe Pimentel is an artist from Newburgh, NY. His work will be gracing the walls of Dream in Plastic from July 10th – August 13th. Stop by and check it out. Pick up an original piece of art from Joe, and there will also be prints and t-shirts available as well!

The opening reception will be Saturday, July 10th from 6-9pm.

Joe says about his work:

I persistently challenge myself to see how far my imagination can soar on earth and through space by contemplating ideas about time, moments, and overall experiences. I find myself overwhelmed by the limitless possibilities that can be explored and realized as our souls gradually evolve towards a higher level of potential. As this evolution plays out inside of our minds, we continue to create and interact with the constructed, visible world around us. I draw on these visual references, as well as symbols, icons, and metaphors to inform my paintings from a philosophical and analytical point of view.

Come for the color, stay for the cupcakes!

Come to Dream in Plastic to check out the solo exhibition by Hudson Valley photographer Jennifer König.

The opening reception will be Saturday, May 8th 6-9pm. Delicious cupcakes will be graciously provided by Minnie Cakes Cupcakes!

The show will be on the wall until June 3rd, so stop by soon!

Jennifer says about ORANGE:
“Ever since i was a child I’ve been drawn to the color orange. Now, as a child of 40, I see it everywhere… a chair in my uncle’s living room, a dying rose, my frizzy hair, a small vinyl toy waiting to be placed in tiny little hands. It’s the color of fire, the color of heat; looking at it makes me feel all warm and happy. And with all the cold, hard hurt in this world, we need all the warmth we can get.”

As a photographer, Jennifer looks for the soul of a thing, be it a friend over for dinner, a dog dancing in the grass, a lone tree in a lonelier field. When shooting portraits, she likes to spend time with people, getting a sense of who they are, what makes them laugh, what makes them strong. When shooting places, she looks for a blend of tradition and surprise, classic themes mixed with hidden details.
